AMUCO lauds Manipur govt’s War on Drugs campaign

AMUCO

Lauding the Government’s ‘War on Drugs’ campaign which has been initiated to curb the drug menace, the organization expressed concern about the rising activities against this campaign such as wide-scale poppy plantation, rampant sale and use of drugs, etc.

Talking about the various social evils which have been impacting society, AMUCO maintained that the issue of drug menace is a major concern that needs to be tackled to protect the people of the State and the youths in particular from the clutch of drugs and intoxicants.

Some vested interest groups are involved in the large-scale deforestation of hills for poppy cultivation. They are destroying the future generations of Manipur for their selfish goals of minting money. AMUCO is hopeful that the present government will bring out a concrete policy that will eradicate drugs from the soil of Manipur and the World.

In view of the above, the organization appealed to all to take up collective measures to fight against this social evil which may put the future of the State at stake.

In view of the upcoming foundation day celebration, Secretary Publicity AMUCO Laishram Krishnachandra Khuman in a press release greeted the people of Manipur and appealed to all to continue to support the welfare activities of AMUCO.

The 30th foundation day celebration of All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) will be held on February 12, 2023, at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai Community hall along with a number of various traditional and cultural programs.

To ensure that the State advances in the race of development and is at par with other States, it is important to build a strong base of the economy by streamlining the social and economical activities, AMUCO said.

Further AMUCO urged all to safeguard the indigenous culture and tradition of the State in the interest of the upcoming generations.
