Hyundai IONIQ 6 N will be the Brand’s Most Powerful Vehicle Ever

Last Updated on June 30, 2024 by SPN Editor

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is poised to transform the electric vehicle (EV) sector with its remarkable performance attributes and state-of-the-art features. This will be the brand’s most powerful vehicle ever!

Design and Specifications

The Ioniq 6 N, a progression of the Hyundai RN22e concept, is predicted to showcase a distinctive design featuring a low ride height, accentuated shoulders, and a front splitter. It’s also expected to include larger front air intakes, a substantial hood vent, partially blanked headlights, side skirts, unique mirrors, expanded wheel arches, exclusive wheels and tires, a rear diffuser, a triangular brake light, and a fixed rear wing.

Performance

The Ioniq 6 N is anticipated to be driven by two motors, a 166 kW (223 hp)/350 Nm (258 lb.-ft.) unit at the front and a 282 kW (378 hp)/390 Nm (288 lb.-ft.) unit at the rear. These motors may produce a total power of 448 kW (601 hp) and a total torque of 740 Nm (546 lb.-ft.).

A temporary ‘N Grin Boost’ feature may allow the driver to extract additional power and torque – 478 kW (641 hp) and 770 Nm (568 lb.-ft.), respectively. The Ioniq 6 N is expected to achieve a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.3 seconds when N Grin Boost is activated.

Features

The Ioniq 6 N is expected to incorporate a dual-clutch torque-vectoring rear differential and a front-rear torque split controlled by various driver-selectable drive modes. Engineers are also experimenting with regenerative braking to determine its potential for both decelerating the car and providing yaw control. They’ve also devised an “N Drift” mode which will channel a significant amount of power to the rear motor for dramatic power slides.

Release Date of Hyundai IONIQ 6 N

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is projected to enter the market as early as 2025. Upon commencement of production, the high-performance electric sedan will also be introduced in the U.S.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is more than just a car; it’s a preview of the future of high-performance electric vehicles. With its advanced features and impressive performance, it’s set to revolutionize the way we drive.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is a standout high-performance electric vehicle in its class for several reasons:

Design and Aerodynamics

The Ioniq 6 N is the most aerodynamic production car in Hyundai’s history with an ultra-low 0.22 drag coefficient. This nearly matches the coefficients of leading electric cars such as the Lucid Air, Mercedes EQS, and Tesla Model S.

Performance

The Ioniq 6 N is expected to feature two motors that may generate a total power of 448 kW (601 hp) and a total torque of 740 Nm (546 lb.-ft.). A temporary ‘N Grin Boost’ feature may allow the driver to extract additional power and torque. The Ioniq 6 N is expected to achieve a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.3 seconds when N Grin Boost is activated.

Comparison with Other Hyundai Models

Interestingly, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is the sportiest version of the E-GMP car, apart from the high-performance Kia EV6 GT. The suspension is tuned to be stiffer, resulting in a much more responsive chassis with less body roll. The steering is quicker and more precise than its siblings.

Comparison with Tesla Model 3 Performance

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is expected to compete with the Tesla Model 3 Performance. It is expected to receive an adaptation of the Ioniq 5 N’s powertrain. The Ioniq 6 N is expected to be unveiled in 2025 with around 641 hp & 568 lb.-ft.

In conclusion, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is a promising high-performance electric vehicle that is expected to compete effectively with other vehicles in its class.
