Chief Minister of Manipur, N Birren Singh has inspected the ongoing construction of the Cancer Hospital which is being established under public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Biren said, “Very soon, we will have our own Cancer hospital and provide world class treatment in the state itself. This will help the people to save both time and money for cancer treatment to a great extent.”
The cancer treatment hospital will be set up within the state-run Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS). This state-of-the-art cancer hospital will be constructed at the cost of Rs 160 crore.
In health sector, Biren led govt is doing tremendous work for the people. Schemes like “Health for All” are providing free treatment to every CMFT card holders. Even doctors, nurses and health care workers are providing doorstep health check-ups and medicine delivery to different sections of society of the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for this Cancer hospital along with other others in January this year. Modi said, “This cancer hospital will greatly benefit the people of state in reducing the out-of-the-pocket expenditure who otherwise have to go outside the state for availing cancer-related diagnostic and treatment services.”
