Neil Patrick Harris will be reprising his role as the legendary Barney Stinson on Hulu’s How I Met Your Father. The news of Neil returning to the show has thrilled the fans of How I Met Your Mother.

They are now eagerly waiting to see how Barney’s return will affect the primary storyline of the season in How I Met Your Father.

Neil Patrick Harris, who played Barney in the original series, has expressed his excitement at being back on set.

According to Neil Patrick Harris, the decision to bring back Barney Stinson was due to the efforts of How I Met Your Mother director Pam Fryman. Fryman has been an important part of both shows and played a significant role in bringing back Barney to the small screen.

“In true Pam Fryman form, she just carries on with a great postured confidence and helms the ship so well, and so given all of the strangeness of the circumstances, it just still felt like we were making good content,” said Harris.

The creators of How I Met Your Father have opened up saying that it’s not the first time a character from the original series, How I Met Your Mother, has returned on the new show.

Cobie Smulders made a comeback as Robin Scherbatsky last year, and now Barney’s return is expected to have an equally significant impact on the storyline.

Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the creators of How I Met Your Father, have teased that Barney’s storyline will have a “major” effect on the plot, and will send one of the main characters in a new and unexpected direction.

In an interview with TVLine, Aptaker said, “We’ll learn some more about where Barney’s at, but it’ll also have a major impact on the trajectory, and main narrative, of our season.”

Fans loved the way Harris brought the character to life, and it was no different in How I Met Your Father.
