Commerce and Industry Minister Nemcha Kipgen inaugurates the Inpi Chamber of Commerce (ICC) at Tuibong in Churachandpur on Saturday.
Observing that developing a strong policy related to commerce and Industry is the need of the hour for the growth and stability of the economy, Commerce and Industry Minister Nemcha Kipgen stressed on the need to develop a structural platform for bringing the ‘desired changes’ to the general public.
We need an alternative source of sustainable livelihood for every member of the society through the establishment of business opportunities and generation of employment to the masses, she stated.
Speaking as Chief Guest at KIC Complex, Churachandpur, Kipgen stated that the draft policy has been circulated to different departments for comments.
While highlighting the need to renovate DIC and streamlining of PMEGP, the Minister stated that the Common Facility Centre in Churachandpur has to be revamped to provide better service to the people. Let us put our differences aside and work for the development of our land, she added.
The Inpi Chamber of Commerce, Churachandpur is formed with a vision ‘to strive for achieving complete economic freedom and self-reliance through entrepreneurship, creation of jobs and opportunities in the society’.
Paolenlal Haokip, MLA, Saikot AC and Letpu Haokip, President, Kuki Inpi Churachandpur attended the function as Guest of Honour and Functional President respectively. Tribe leaders, CSO leaders and local entrepreneurs also attended the function.
