The new-generation Renault Duster SUV is all set for its global debut on November 29, 2023, and Indian enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing it on their home turf by October 2025. Reports suggest that Dacia, Renault’s budget-focused brand, will unveil the next-generation Renault Duster SUV in Portugal.

Renault Duster SUV is anticipated to be priced around ₹12 lakh in India, setting the stage for an exciting entry into the SUV segment.

The foundation of the new Duster rests on the renowned Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform, which underpins a range of models, including the new Renault Arkana and Dacia Jogger. What’s striking about the new Renault Duster SUV is its increased dimensions, boasting a lengthier wheelbase and a wider track compared to its predecessor. These enhancements translate to better stability and more interior space.

Aesthetically, the new Duster embodies a contemporary design ethos, showcasing a prominent grille and elegantly swept-back headlights. This fresh approach underscores Renault’s commitment to staying ahead of the design curve.

As we venture into the cabin, it’s evident that the new Renault Duster SUV has undergone a significant transformation. It offers a spacious interior equipped with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a modern digital instrument cluster, and ergonomically designed seating. In terms of features, Renault has expanded its offerings to potentially include a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free tailgate, and a comprehensive 360-degree camera system.

Renault is poised to introduce the new Renault Duster SUV with petrol engines, which may encompass the familiar 1.5L normal petrol engine and a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine. Diesel options may encompass a 1.5-litre and a 2.0-litre unit.

The standard transmission across the range will be a manual, with select variants offering a CVT automatic gearbox. In addition, there’s speculation about a strong hybrid powertrain, a strategic move to take on competitors in the Indian market effectively.

Renault’s approach with the third-generation Duster is one of ascension. Positioned as a more premium offering compared to its predecessor, the new Renault Duster SUV is geared to compete with established models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The exterior design of the new Duster draws inspiration from the Dacia Bigster concept SUV, a move that lends it a distinctive visual appeal. Slim LED headlights sporting twin rectangular LED DRLs give it a striking front fascia. The grille’s block pattern adds character, while squared-off wheel arches, black alloy wheels, and bronze-colored side mirrors contribute to its allure. A gently sloping roofline, a roof spoiler, and vertically-stacked LED tail lights at the rear complete the picture.

One of the most exciting aspects is the versatility of the new Renault Duster SUV. It is expected to offer both 5- and 7-seat configurations, making it a strong contender in the competitive SUV market. To meet the demands of the Indian market effectively, it is anticipated that the new Duster will be equipped with an array of features, including a panoramic sunroof, a substantial touchscreen infotainment system offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree parking camera, and an electronically adjustable driver’s seat.

As Renault’s flagship model in India, the third-generation Renault Duster SUV is expected to roll onto Indian roads in 2025, intensifying the competition in the C-segment SUV category. Alongside the Duster, Renault has ambitious plans to launch another SUV based on the CMF-B platform and a small electric hatchback in India.

The upcoming Renault Duster SUV is much more than a mere facelift; it represents a significant leap forward in terms of design, technology, and performance. With its competitive pricing, it is likely to be a compelling choice for SUV enthusiasts in India.
