Several Well-Wishers Rally to Support Rajpal Yadav in Cheque-Bounce Crisis

Veteran comedian Rajpal Yadav continues to face significant challenges after surrendering at Delhi’s Tihar Jail in a long-standing cheque-bounce case involving an alleged debt of around ₹9 crore.

Prior to his surrender, Rajpal shared a poignant and emotional statement about his financial hardships and feelings of abandonment, expressing that he had “no friends” or support in his time of need.

The revelation triggered an immediate and inspiring response from across the entertainment industry and beyond, led by actor Sonu Sood. Famous for his humanitarian work, Sonu publicly praised Rajpal as a talented artist who has brought joy through countless memorable performances over the years.

He announced plans to cast Rajpal in one of his upcoming films and offered a “small signing amount”, to be adjusted against future earnings as a gesture of professional respect and immediate relief.

Sonu made it clear this was about upholding dignity, not charity, and appealed to producers, directors, and peers to stand united and support fellow artists during difficult periods.

This compassionate initiative quickly snowballed, drawing more prominent figures to extend help and solidarity. Kamaal R Khan (KRK) Offers Personal Contribution
Bollywood’s outspoken critic and personality Kamaal R Khan (KRK) stepped up by pledging ₹10 lakh from his own funds.

In a social media post, he urged the entire Bollywood community to collectively raise up to ₹5 crore to assist in resolving Rajpal’s situation and securing his release, stressing the importance of unity when artists face crises.

Crossing into the political realm, Tej Pratap Yadav, National President of Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) and son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced ₹11 lakh in financial assistance for Rajpal Yadav and his family.

Referring to Rajpal as an elder brother, Tej Pratap expressed full empathy and humanitarian support on behalf of his party and family, standing by them during this painful chapter.

TV and film actor Gurmeet Choudhary voiced his heartbreak over Rajpal’s plight, calling him an extraordinary talent. He described the film and television industry as a true family that never leaves its own behind, vowing to provide full support in any way possible and encouraging others in the fraternity to join in.

Haryana-based businessman and music producer Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav (also associated with Gem Tunes) made one of the most significant commitments by announcing ₹1.11 crore in aid. In an emotional appeal, he lauded Rajpal’s decades of service to Indian cinema, entertaining millions with his comedy, and called on the public and industry to contribute further to help the beloved star.

Director Anees Bazmee, who has collaborated with Rajpal over many years, publicly called on Bollywood colleagues to rally around him. He highlighted common industry challenges with paperwork and finances, defended Rajpal’s good intentions, and noted that while the actor is still working and capable of earning, repaying such a massive sum instantly remains overwhelming.

Rajpal Yadav, forever etched in audiences’ hearts for his iconic comic roles in hits like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Golmaal, Phir Hera Pheri, Chup Chup Ke, and many more, is now witnessing a powerful demonstration of compassion and unity.

From film opportunities and direct financial aid to moral encouragement, the collective efforts of Sonu Sood and others highlight a vital message. True industry spirit and human kindness shine brightest in tough times, ensuring no artist faces adversity alone.
