The Tata Punch EV is slated to hit the Indian market around mid-February 2024, with an estimated ex-showroom price bracket of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. The automaker has already shared details about the exterior colors, variants, and other key aspects of the upcoming electric SUV.

Variants
The Tata Punch EV will come in two range-based variants: Punch.ev and Punch.ev Long Range. The standard model will be available in five trim options: Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+. The Punch EV Long Range variant will be offered in three trim options: Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+.
Features
While Tata Motors has not revealed specific features of the electric SUV, the upcoming Punch EV will be built on the acti.ev architecture, a dedicated EV platform that promises an enhanced digital cockpit experience. The platform is also expected to offer ADAS L2+ capability, 5G connectivity, and bi-directional charging, enabling the vehicle to charge other devices and participate in vehicle-to-vehicle charging. The Punch EV is also expected to support over-the-air (OTA) software updates and feature cloud connectivity.
Design
While the Tata Punch EV shares design elements with the internal combustion engine-powered Punch SUV, it features unique aspects that set it apart. The front profile of the Punch EV is distinguished by a closed-off panel, eliminating the need for a traditional radiator grille. A sleek LED light bar, serving as the daytime running light, spans the width of the car and is positioned at the edge of the bonnet.
The headlamp design and a unique front bumper further differentiate the Punch EV from the ICE model. Variations in the side and rear profiles of the electric SUV are also expected compared to its internal combustion engine counterpart.
Powertrain
The Tata Punch EV aims to deliver a range of approximately 300 kilometers on a single charge. However, specific details regarding its power, torque, and top speed are yet to be disclosed. The SUV will come with a 3.3 kW wall box charger, and the Long Range variant will be equipped with a 7.2 kW fast home charger.
The Tata Punch EV is slated to hit the market in February 2024. However, the precise delivery schedule might fluctuate based on the chosen variant and the availability of specific exterior paint shades. In instances where the desired options are not readily available, a provisional waiting period of approximately two weeks is being communicated to customers in certain cities.
