Three Manipuri Muay Thai players and one Coach from Manipur were selected for the 7th Amateur Muay Boran World Championships which will be held in Thailand next month. The players will also be participating in the 5th International & Thai Martial Arts Games and Festival 2023.
In a press release from the Manipur Mixed Martial Art Association’s Secretary of Publicity and Propaganda Keisham Joyprakash Meitei, the Association congratulates Khagokpam Sanayaima Singh who won the Silver Medal in the 70-75 kg Senior Category at the recently concluded 9th National Thai Boxing Federation Cup 2023 in Rani Kamrup in Guwahati from January 27 to 29, 2023.
Further, the press statement also expresses best wishes to Angom Dikison Meitei for awarding Instructor Diploma in Thai Boxing by the Thai Boxing Indian Federation. It may be mentioned that the said Diploma is recognized by the School Games Federation of India and approved by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India.
Three players, Angom Dikison Meitei will participate in the under 67 Kg Male category; Khagokpam Manihar Singh under 71 Kg Male; Khagokpam Sanayaima Singh under 75 Kg Male category will be participating in the 5th International & Thai Martial Arts Games and Festival 2023 and 7th Amateur Muay Boran World Championships which will be held at Phanakorn Si Ayuthaya Province Stadium, Thailand from March 12-17, 2023.
Meanwhile, Master Chabungbam Premchandra Singh was appointed as Indian Team Coach as well as India Co-ordinator for World Muay Boran Federation (WMBF), World Muay Thai Organisation (WMO), Kru-Muay Thai Association (KMA) and India Co-ordinator for the 5th International & Thai Martial Arts Games and Festival 2023.
