People of Churachandpur are not happy with the cabinet ministry expansion of BJP led govt. We have gave three BJP MLAs, two Janata Dal United (JDU) MLAs, and one Kuki People’s Alliance (KPA) MLA in the recently concluded 12th Manipur State Assembly Election.
We are hopeful of one Cabinet Minister from our twin districts Churachandpur and Pherzawl. Our representatives are well qualified and experienced. They will surely serve our people and also contribute to the State in bringing peace and development.
Imphal East district got three Cabinet Ministers including State Chief Minister N Biren Singh. The Speaker of State Legislative Assembly is also from this district.
Imphal West got three Ministers, Bishnupur got two Ministers while Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul got one cabinet Minister each.
However, Thoubal, Kakching, Chandel, Churachandpur and Pherzawl do not have a cabinet minister in the 12th State Legislative Assembly.
Churachandpur is the second most populated city of Manipur. With more than 3 lakhs population, this district along with Pherzawl is the hub for business establishments and favourite hot spots for the younger generations.
If the cabinet ministers are appointed by the Centre, then we are not satisfied with the decision. They have ignored and neglected our people.
During the election campaign, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited this district and promised for a develop Manipur. How could he ignore our Churachandpur? We have voted BJP to power.
Now, people of Churachandpur is expecting something from N Biren Singh, the People’s CM. What is the meaning for his hill – valley unity when he ignored the southern part of the state? What is the purpose of having Cabinet Meeting in the district? When we have 3 BJP MLAs, it is disheartening to miss a cabinet minister from our district.
We hope Chief Minister N Biren Singh will consider of giving minister if there is the possibility of a reshuffle in his cabinet like the previous terms or cabinet ministry expansion during this 5 years term.
We want development in the region and we are ready to support BJP led govt in the days to come. Kindly do not alienate us!
