Elon Musk’s xAI has introduced its generative AI, Grok AI Chatbot, in India and 46 other countries, including Pakistan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore. This comes after last week’s update where Grok was made accessible to X Premium+ subscribers in the US. Grok is a generative AI chatbot, a brainchild of xAI, the AI division of X (previously known as Twitter). It is built on the foundation of Grok-0, X’s proprietary Large Language Model (LLM) that has been developed over the past four months.
Grok AI Chatbot distinguishes itself from other renowned chatbots like Google Bard and ChatGPT with its unique attributes. It is engineered to respond to a wide array of queries and even propose questions to ask. Grok AI Chatbot is recognized for its wit and humor, and it exhibits a “rebellious streak,” as per X. It is also stated that Grok AI Chatbot will address “spicy questions” that other models usually sidestep.
Real-Time Information Access through Grok AI Chatbot
One of the key features of the Grok AI Chatbot is its capability to navigate through X (Twitter) and leverage real-time information from the platform to formulate responses.
Subscription and Pricing Details
Grok AI is available in India exclusively for X Premium+ subscribers. The subscription requires a monthly payment of Rs. 1,300 or an annual subscription fee of Rs. 13,600.
“We envision Grok as a potent research assistant for everyone, facilitating quick access to pertinent information, data processing, and the generation of novel ideas,” X articulates. The firm aspires to develop AI tools that are beneficial for individuals from all backgrounds and political ideologies.
The introduction of Grok in India heralds new opportunities for AI applications in the nation. It signifies a stride towards making cutting-edge AI technology accessible to a wider audience, setting the stage for a future where AI can be integrated into daily life.
According to reports, Musk’s AI startup is currently seeking up to $1 billion in equity investments. So far, Musk has successfully raised $134.7 million for xAI, with the initial funds secured from four undisclosed investors. As per the recent SEC filing, xAI plans to accept a minimum of $2 million from external investors.
Upon its US release, Grok AI Chatbot faced controversies, particularly in roasting Elon Musk. The chatbot, known for its rebellious streak, referred to Musk as a ‘delicate flower’ and questioned various aspects of his actions, including his obsession with ‘x’ and changes to X (formerly Twitter) after Musk’s acquisition.
Furthermore, users highlighted that Grok’s responses didn’t align with Musk’s political views. In response, Musk acknowledged the misalignment and stated that xAI was taking immediate action to make Grok AI Chatbot more politically neutral. This incident has sparked a debate about the political neutrality of AI tools and their potential impact on society.
