Fans are not happy with the Super Mario Bros. Movie Review.

One fan wrote, “Princess Peach was fantastic in this movie! I loved her personality and the part where she used the ice flower. She’s a powerful princess! I also found her backstory really interesting. Baby Peach was adorable and accurate in her appearance in the games.

Everything in this movie was spot-on and accurate to Mario as a franchise. The wedding outfit that Peach wore was simply gorgeous. Lumalee’s death obsession was funny, and I loved the kart-building scene.

Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong were a wonderful surprise, and King Boo and King Bob-Omb also showed up which was so cool. Mario and Luigi’s family, Donkey Kong, and Mario getting swallowed by an Eel, the second verse of ‘Peaches,’ Toad’s little adventure song – I could go on and on praising this film.

It’s definitely the perfect family movie, appealing to anyone who loves Mario. What a great time to be the biggest Mario fan!”

Another fan wrote, “As a Mario fan who is aware of Illumination’s usual quality of films, I was worried that this movie was going to be a bad cash-grab with unfunny humor and poor character choices. However, I was delightfully surprised when the movie opened up with music re-orchestrated fresh from the games. It made me hopeful within the first 5 minutes.

The characters were not butchered and seemed genuine. The movie was surprisingly good and probably Illumination’s best film so far. I hope that they take this as a sign to work just as hard on future projects.”

One fan also wrote, “Despite what many critics say, this is a great movie. I believe that this movie wasn’t aiming to be a cinematic masterpiece, but rather to give people a good time, which it largely succeeded in doing. It certainly left me very happy when exiting the theater.

This movie incorporates a technique that many often forget, which is to have fun. This can be seen in many of the Easter eggs and hints they dropped throughout the film, many of which were clever and made me happy to see. In addition, the movie was very humorous in many parts that had me and many other people laughing.

The music was astounding, and many of the classic songs from the franchise were referenced and were astonishingly well-placed. Also, the voice acting was very well done. The character voices that I thought would leave me unsatisfied actually grew on me, and the other character voices were incredibly well done.”

“Generally speaking, almost all video game movies are winners, but this one takes things to the next level (pun intended)! All the gang is here, including Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, and of course, Donkkeeeyyy Konnnng! It feels like a high school reunion with all our pals!” another fan wrote.

Meanwhile, critics have expressed that the acting performances in the movie are lacking, with the actors struggling to bring depth and complexity to their characters. The dialogue often feels cheesy and forced, failing to capture the witty and humorous tone of the original game.

The direction, cinematography, production design, special effects, editing, and score are all average at best, failing to elevate the movie beyond its mediocre script and performances. The pacing is also inconsistent, and the movie fails to establish a consistent tone throughout.

The Super Mario Bros. movie was made by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. Matthew Fogel wrote the movie, and Universal Pictures released it. Some famous actors starred in the movie, such as Chris Pratt, who played Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.
