Forest Minister Biswajit took part in mass tree plantations in different locations on Friday. A tree plantation drive was organized during the inauguration of 73th Van Mahotsav 2022, targeting to plant 75 Lakhs saplings. Thongam Biswajit was accompanied by Dr. Aditya Kumar Joshi, PCCF, Manipur & officials of DFO, Haraorou villagers, CSO at Haraorou, Saikhul Range.
The same event was held at Gwaltabi where PCCF, DFO and villagers participated along with the Forest Minister Biswajit.
At Tamenglong district headquarters, Van Mahotsav was celebrated at Tamenglong college where divisional forest officer Tamenglong Praveen Kumar Nigam, sub divisional officer Tousem and Tamenglong Paul Nangsha and principal Tamenglong College N Daimei attended as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Rainforest club members, college faculty and non teaching staff and Tamenglong Forest Division staff took part in the mass tree plantation drive.
The Chandel AC MLA , SS Olish also participated in the mass plantation drive in Chandel as part of the 73rd Van Mahotsav Celebration, 2022 (Festival of Forest) which was organized by Chandel Forest Division at the District HQs.
Soreiphy Vashum, IFS, Addl. PCCF, GoM; Rajkumar Mayanglambam, IAS, DC Chandel, Hemant Pandey, IPS, SP Chandel and Kanthale Vijay Sahebrao, IFS, DFO Chandel were present in the mass plantation drives.
