Govt working to boost morale of police-CM Biren

CM N Biren who is also the Home Minister informed the House on Monday that the State Government has been working to boost the morale of police as police being the backbone of good governance. He said that police have the capabilities to bring a good system in our society. Best dress, good vehicles, weapons and equipment have been provided to boost the morale of police, he added.

The Chief Minister also assured the House that strict action will be taken against any officials who use any form of bribery in promotion, transfer and posting in the Police Department. He also said that his government is fully committed to promoting women in the Police Department. He also informed the House that as according to the requirements the present government is going to create an Inspector (female) post in the Police Department.

On war against drugs, Biren said that the present government is going to procure various kits approved by the World Health Organization which have the capabilities to detect No. 4 Heroine or any kind of illegal drugs transported in vehicles by the drug dealers.

As social media has a great chance of creating communal hatred among us, the Police Department is also setting up a big team of Cyber crime with modern equipment and technologies to deal with any kind of cyber related crime. The Police Department is providing training with all sorts of facilities in Pangei Police Training Centre, he added.

On the seventh day of the 12th Legislative Assembly, the House unanimously passed seven) demands for grants amounting to Rs. 24,618,010,000.

The demands for grants are Police Rs. 2201,3921,000, Vigilance and Anti-corruption Rs. 82419000, Fire Protection and Control Rs. 35,87,83,000, Jails Rs. 42,67,78,000, Home Guards Rs 52,51,89,000, Rehabilitation Rs. 6,94,32,000 and Relief & Disaster Management Rs.114,1488,000.

The House also introduced three Bills in the House. They are the Manipur Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Fourth Amendment) Bill, 2022, Manipur Staff Selection Commission Bill, 2022 (Bill No. 5 of 2022) and Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seven Amendment) Bill, 2022 (Bill No. 14 of 2022).
