Uttra Sanglen, Sana Konung, and Chengei ching Imoinu Thougal Lup, Waithou in Thoubal district performed Imoinu Iratpa Thouram at Chengei ching in Waithou yesterday.
Every year, Ima Imoinu Iratpa Thouram is observed on the 12th Lunar day Wakching month of Meitei calendar. The Imoinu Iratpa Thouram at Chengei Ching and Koubru Laifamlen was observed for the year 3421 Maliyafam Palcha Kumsing (Meitei Year) falls on Tuesday, the 3rd of January 2023.
According to Sanamahism, Ima Imoinu also called Imoinu Ahongbi is associated with household, hearth, kitchen, wealth, peace, and prosperity. She is also regarded as one of the incarnations of the Ima Leimarel Sidabi.
The Yaiskullakpa of Sana Konung, Keisham Raghumani along with the Amaiba and Amaibi (priest) performed the function of Imoinu Iratpa Thouram at Chengei ching. People from different parts of Manipur joined the function as well.
Meanwhile, Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba also observed the Imoinu Iratpa Thouram at Sana Konung with traditional rites and rituals which were followed by a feast. Leishemba Sanajaoba seeks blessings of the land and the people to Ima Imoinu for peace, love, prosperity, and free from all worrisome.
The Uttra Sanglen and Thang Ta Loisang of Sana Konung have also organized a journey at the Koubru peak in Kangpokpi District of Manipur. More than 1000 people climbed the Koubru peak and worshiped Ima Imoinu at Koubru laifamlen which is believed to be the abode of the Goddess.
In every Meitei home, Ima Imoinu is worshiped with fresh vegetables and fish to seek blessings for prosperity and good health. Besides, Imoinu Iratpa Thouram was also held at Yumnam Leikai, which was organized by Poirei Eethiba Lup (PEEL) and Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal.
The Moreh Meetei Lai Thougal Lup also celebrated Ima Imoinu Irat Thouram in the Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh.
