Imphal East police and community groups collaborate to fight drug menace

An awareness program on the impact of addictive substances in society and the role of the public and police in preventing the spread of the drug menace problem was jointly organized by the Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup, Diamond Club Wangkhei Ayangpalli, and Wangkhei Ayangpalli Leima Keithel Apunba Lup. The event took place at Wangkhei Ayangpalli Leima Keithel on Monday.

The program aimed to highlight the impact of addictive substances in society and the role of the public and police in curbing the spread of this issue.

As the chief guest of the program, Imphal East SP Ksh Shivakanta emphasized that the event was conducted with the participation of police personnel to strengthen the government’s campaign against drugs and to make stakeholders aware of their roles in eradicating the drug menace.

He also highlighted that winning this war on drugs will require a collaborative effort between the people and police.

The officer further stated that Imphal East district police have been carrying out drives against drugs in various areas of the district.

The day-long awareness program was presided over by Diamond Club president T Saratkumar and attended by Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup president Y Memma Leima, Wangkhei Ayangpalli Leima Keithel Apunba Lup vice president L Loidang Devi, and MAPI Council president KC Romeo as guests of honor.
