CM N Biren stated that the State is moving fast on the path of development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The development works taken up in various sectors by the State Government are for the sake of our future generations, he added. The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at the flag-off program for the improvement of Imphal Kohima road Package–IV (B) and Imphal Kohima Package-V (A) Road of National Highway-02 held at Kalapahar, Kangpokpi district.
Continuing his speech, Biren appreciated MLAs of Kangpokpi District and Civil Society Organisations for their cooperation and efforts in solving the issues of land compensation along the said highway. Maintaining that different community residing in the State have now started living together and having respect for one another, he said that the Government only wants its citizens to abide by the laws of the land. He added that the Government is working under the ambit of the Indian Constitution and not imposing any law which is beyond its ambit.
Biren also tweeted, “Happy to flag off the work for Improvement of Imphal Kohima PKG-IV (B) & PKG-V (A) of NH-02 today. Due to an unresolved dispute, the work couldn’t be started on this stretch for the last one year. Right after we reached an agreement, the work has finally begun today.”
Observing that cooperating with the Government’s development work could make our State more developed, the Chief Minister assured that those who are affected by the road improvement work would be benefited from their loss.
Textiles, Commerce and Industries Minister Nemcha Kipgen stated that the condition of the road would be improved with the road project. She appreciated the dedicated initiatives of Chief Minister Biren Singh to improve road conditions in the State. Mentioning that National Highway-02 is the lifeline for the development of the State, she stressed the need for such improvement of the highway. She also urged the NHIDCL to maintain the quality while taking up the improvement work and also sought the cooperation of the public in the timely completion of the work.
Chairman, Planning and Development Authority Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei, MLA of Saitu AC Haokholet Kipgen, Executive Director, RO-Imphal, NHIDCL D. S. Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi Kengoo Zuringla and other officials also attended the flag off program.
Later, the Chief Minister formally opened the Thadou Heritage Museum at Thadou Inpi-General Headquarters Complex, Kangpokpi district.
