A new basketball court was inaugurated at De Paul School in the remote village of Puni Pfosemei, Senapati district, providing a significant boost to sports infrastructure for students from underprivileged backgrounds.

The project was executed by the 19 Garhwal Rifles under the aegis of the Red Shield Division and Spear Corps, as part of the Indian Army’s Operation Sadbhavana, which emphasises community development and nation-building initiatives in border and remote areas.
Personnel from the 19 Garhwal Rifles took the lead in constructing the court, extending their role beyond security duties to support grassroots development and community welfare.
This initiative highlights the Army’s ongoing commitment to holistic upliftment of local populations through infrastructure projects that promote education, health, and sports.
The basketball court at De Paul School is expected to greatly enhance the school’s sporting facilities.
