After a video went viral on 20th April on social media, three teachers are suspended for not following new school timing in Manipur.
The state government on March 26 notified that school hours will start at 8 am in all government, aided and private schools with effect from April 1 across Manipur. However, teachers from the Maibam Palli reached the school 2 hours late.
Three government school teachers in Manipur were suspended on Friday for allegedly not following the new school timing made effective from April 1 by the state government.
Two of the three teachers, namely primary teacher Yunus and graduate science teacher L Kanahai were posted at Maibam Pali Junior High School at Maibam Palli in Thoubal district while the other primary teacher Fakharuddin Ali Ahmad of Irong Primary Madrassa was utilised at the said school.
Director of Education (S), L Nandakumar issued separate suspension orders of the trio on Friday. The director said the zonal education officer was instructed to verify a video that had gone viral on social media showing the school remained closed till around 10 am. Subsequently, it was learnt that the school started around two hours late, said the director.
