Manipur University’s CDC Organises Sensitization Workshop on NEP 2020

The College Development Council (CDC), Manipur University, conducted a one-day sensitization workshop on January 7, 2025, to familiarize affiliated colleges with the new Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) syllabus based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The workshop, held at the Court Hall of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat, aimed to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the revamped undergraduate curriculum across all affiliated institutions of Manipur University.

Chief Guest Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University, congratulated all stakeholders for the successful execution of the academic calendar and reaffirmed the university’s full commitment to implementing NEP 2020.

He particularly appreciated the Committee for Implementation of NEP 2020 (UG) for designing new syllabi, promoting interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary education, and emphasizing skill-oriented learning despite numerous challenges.

Guest of Honour Tokpam Shantikumar Singh, Controller of Examinations, stressed the importance of regularly sensitizing students about the evolving examination reforms under NEP 2020.

The programme was presided over by Prof. Soibam Jibonkumar Singh, Chairman of the NEP 2020 Implementation Committee (UG) and Dean, School of Human and Environmental Sciences.Technical sessions covered key aspects including:

  • Manipur University Regulations for FYUP 2025
  • Credit transactions and levels of study
  • Learner’s choice and flexibility in curriculum
  • Major structural reforms in the evaluation system

Resource persons included Prof. N. Sanjoy Singh (Principal, Liberal College) and Shri Khuraijam Dineshkumar Singh (DM College of Teachers Education).

A separate session on library facilities was conducted by Moirangthem Lokendro Singh, Assistant Librarian, Manipur University.

The workshop was attended by principals, faculty members, and administrators from various affiliated colleges. It was coordinated by Prof. Hanjabam Shukhdeba Sharma, Director, CDC, with welcome address and vote of thanks delivered by him and Dr. Sakila Nongmeikapam (PRO, MU) respectively. The event was compered by Dr. Kshetrimayum Chitrabhanu.
