The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President Barish Sharma, who attended the Shandmasik Vishwa Shanti Mahayagya in Kangpokpi district on Monday stressed the importance of safeguarding the Hindu religion while maintaining that the Manipuri Gorkhas are also the rightful citizens of Manipur.
The event was held at Santolabari and Kalapahar of Kangpokpi. The programme aims to bring world peace. The six-month-long Mahayagya which began on June 30 will culminate on December 9.
Rajya Sabha MP and Manipur Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba attended Shandmasik Vishwa Shanti Mahayagya in Kangpokpi district. Addressing the huge gathering, MP Leishemba Sanajaoba stressed the importance of global peace which the Yagya aspired to bring, and assured to construct of a Hindu temple at a suitable place in Kangpokpi and to renovate the present Dharmodaya Veda Vigyan Gurukul at Santolabari.
Leishemba Sanajaoba while appreciating the Gorkhas for organizing such an important programme, said that the Manipuri Gorkhas are the permanent citizens who are part and parcel of the State.
The event was also graced by M Barish Sharma, President Manipur unit of BJYM; Dr. Basudev Singh, President Manipur Ved Vidhyapeeth; Ajit Das, leader of Iskcon temple’ Ashok Bansal, Chief Ekal Vidyalaya Manipur; Dhanachandra Sharma, Forest Range Officer; Dr Tankanath Khatiwoda, Professor Presidency College; Pandit Bhawani Subedi Sampargh Pramukh RSS Manipur; Mrityunjay, Pranta Pramukh Manipur state RSS; Bhawani Adhikari, President Nepali Sahitya Parishad Manipur; Hari Nepal, President Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union; leaders of Hindustani Samaj, leaders of Shau Society, leaders of Gorkhali Community and many other dignitaries from various Hindu Communities have also graced the programme.
While drawing the attention of the concerned authorities in connection with the pathetic road conditions which lead to the event site at Santplabari, the organising committee appealed to all public to be part of the Vishwa Shanti Mahayagya which will end on December 9.
