Nagaland Should not Become Second Manipur-Kuzholuzo Nienu

Kohima/September 13, 2023 (SPN) | In the 2nd session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu took center stage to address a pressing concern about Kukis in Nagaland state on Monday.

Kuzholuzo Nienu raised concerns about the infiltration of Kukis from outside the state into the processes of the Nagaland NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and NPSC (Nagaland Public Service Commission). He directed the Higher Education Minister, Temjen Imna Along, and the government of Nagaland, requesting a thorough examination and scrutiny of the selection process.

Furthermore, Nienu drew attention to the situation in Manipur, where Kukis were reportedly outperforming Meiteis.

He further said that Manipur is also facing problems right now as Kukis are doing better than Meiteis.

Kuzholuzo Nienu reiterated that Nagaland should not become the second Manipur.

This revelation highlighted the extent of the issue, with its impact stretching beyond Nagaland’s borders. Nienu’s resounding message was clear – Nagaland should not follow in Manipur’s footsteps, and immediate measures were required to maintain the integrity of the NEET and NPSC processes.

To ensure the integrity of these examinations, Nienu emphasized the importance of rigorous scrutiny by the relevant departments. He called upon the government to scrutinize all candidates participating in NEET and NPSC thoroughly.

In response to Nienu’s concerns, the Education Minister offered assurance that he would take proactive steps to instruct the department to scrutinize both the candidates and the selection process rigorously.

The MLA also focuses on serious issues that have been plaguing the state of Nagaland – illegal immigration. With a stern and unwavering tone, MLA Nienu underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that illegal immigration had evolved into a major issue that affected the entire state.

Kuzholuzo Nienu’s plea to the house resonated with urgency as he urged the members to treat this matter with the utmost seriousness. He cautioned that failing to address the issue promptly would result in dire consequences in the near future.

The implications of unchecked illegal immigration were clear to Nienu, and he called upon the government to implement robust policies and take resolute action.

One of Nienu’s proposals that stood out was his request for the establishment of detention centers specifically designed to handle illegal immigrants. This suggestion reflected his determination to confront the problem head-on and ensure that illegal immigration no longer posed a threat to Nagaland’s stability and security.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also addressed the issue of illegal immigrants in Nagaland during the same session.

While acknowledging the presence of individuals from Bangladesh, Rio displayed a diplomatic approach, emphasizing the need to deal with the situation without singling out any particular community or individual.
