Rahul, Golmei and Anjali topped the CoHSEM Examination 2022

Council result declared

Imphal/ June 7, 2022 (SPN) | Rahul Naorem of Extra Edge Higher Secondary School, Golmei Gaihemmei of E K Higher Secondary School, and Abujam Anjali of SDJM Highers Secondary School topped the CoHSEM Examination 2022 in Science, Arts, and Commerce streams respectively.

Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar Singh declared the results of the Higher Secondary Examination, 2022 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (CoHSEM) in the presence of CoHSEM Chairman Dr. L. Mahendra Singh, Commissioner (Education) Gyan Prakash, Director of Education (S) L Nandakumar Singh at the Conference Hall of CoHSEM, Babupara on Monday.

Altogether 28,166 candidates appeared in the HSE, 2022, and out of them 25,374 candidates cleared the exam. A total of 19,519 students faced the exam in the Science stream, 8082 in Arts stream and 565 in Commerce stream.

The pass percentage of Government Higher Secondary Schools is 89.23 percent and that of private schools is 90.28 percent. The overall pass percentage is 89.75 percent.  

It may be mentioned that the number of candidates who appeared in HSE examination 2020 was 29,072, out of which 25,002 cleared the exam with 86 percent pass percentage. For the 2021 examination, the council declared all the students passed due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2020, the total number of students securing letter marks in three streams Arts, Science and Commerce was 655 as compared to 473 this year but the pass percentage of students CoHSEM Examination 2022 is 4.28 percent higher than that of CoHSEM Examination 2020.

In Science stream, Rahul Naorem, son of Naorem Jibol Singh and Athokpam Santibala Devi of Arapti Mayai Leikai, a student of Xtra Edge Higher School secured first position by getting 478 marks.

Kshetrimayum Rajshree, daughter of Kshtrimayum Brojen Singh and Tourangbam Shantibala hailing from Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai of Millennium Institute of Sciences secured second position by securing 457 marks while the third position was bagged by student of Herbert School, Changangei W Anupriya Devi, daughter of W. Chandrakumar Singh and W (o) Anita Devi of Thoubal Bazar Makha, who scored 472 marks.

In Arts stream, student of EK Higher Secondary School, Sangakpham Golmei Gaihemmei, daughter of G. Katazinpou and G. Akashini Kabuini of Langthabal, Khoupum secured first position by securing 459 marks while Raniya Soibam, daughter of Soibam Birmani Singh and W.Pratima Devi of Arapti Awang Leikai of EK Higher Secondary School secured 2nd position by fetching 457 marks.

The third position was also secured by student of the same school N. Jessica Devi, daughter of N Hemanta Singh and N. Aruni Devi of Kakching Ningthou Leikai. She secured 456 marks.

In Commerce stream, Abujam Anjali Devi, daughter of A. Romen Singh and A. (o) Sarda Devi of SDJM Higher Secondary School, Paona Bazar secured the first position with a score of 424 marks. She is from Langthabal Mantrimakhong Makha Leikai while Niangbiaklun, daughter of Khaulching Chingkhalal from Sahei Road, V Munhoih of VK Tawna College, Lamka, Churachandpur got second position by getting 399 marks.

The third position was secured by Tongbram Luxmi Devi, daughter of T. Dhaneshwara Singh and T. Sobita Devi of SDJM Higher Secondary School, Paona Bazar by scoring 397 marks.

Speaking as Chief Guest of the function, Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar Singh said that the council was able to declare the results successfully within a short period due to the hard work and dedication of the examiners and council officials.

He said that students should be taught to behave well, maintain discipline and take part in various co-curricular activities on top of learning bookish knowledge.

The Minister said that the present BJP Government under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Biren has declared the implementation of ‘No School Bag Day’ in the State once a week starting from the previous session.

He further said that the main objective of ‘No School Bag Day’ is to divert the minds of students from the influence of drugs. He stressed giving proper guidance to students to excel in studies and succeed in life.

The present BJP government is working very hard and taking up various steps to enhance the education system in the State, he added.

The Minister informed that enrolment of students in government schools is gradually increasing which is a good sign. He assured that during his term, he will inspect government schools regularly to ascertain whether ‘Mid-Day Meal’ is properly implemented or not.

Basantakumar further assured that he will try his best to implement the scheme properly for the welfare of students in government schools.
