The Community Medicine Department of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal held one of the Health Talk program that is part of their ongoing program at Ramgailong in Kangpoki District yesterday.
Meghachandra, a Health Educator from the Community Medicine Department at RIMS, gave the opening lecture at Health Talks, which were held on the subject of “Substance Abuse,” and other intern doctors discussed the subject afterward.
The health talk program was led by Senior Resident Doctor P Amrita and Dr. K Sornajit, who were also the program guides. Dr. Brogen Singh Akoijam, Dean (Academic) of RIMS and Head of the Community Medicine Department at RIMS, was in charge of organizing this episode of the Health Talk program. He oversaw the organization of the event overall.
Free Health check-ups and medicines were distributed to all the attendees who took part in the awareness. Blood Sugar, Blood Group, and Haemoglobin tests were also done free of cost for all the attendees of the program by Lab Technician Y. Gambhirsana Singh.
