Senior Under Officer Swaty Laishram from 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC served as Second-in-Command of the All India NCC Girls Marching Contingent during the Republic Day Parade 2026 at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
She led her platoon with exemplary discipline, precision, and confidence, becoming the only cadet from Manipur selected for a leading role in the prestigious national contingent.
The parade, held on January 26, 2026, to mark India’s 77th Republic Day, featured the NCC girls contingent among other marching units, showcasing national unity, discipline, and youth leadership.
Swaty Laishram, daughter of Laishram Birjit Singh from Khundrakpam Makha Leikai, Imphal East, represented not only her squadron and NCC Group Imphal but also the entire North Eastern Region.
Her selection and prominent position mark a significant achievement for the state and bring immense pride to the NCC fraternity in the region.
The squadron also celebrated the accomplishments of Cadet Under Officer Moramba Konsam and Cadet Under Officer Pinky Ningthoujam.
Their consistent performances at national platforms, including successful participation in the All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC) 2025 and the Republic Day Camp 2026 in New Delhi—along with the Prime Minister’s Rally—highlight the high standards of training, discipline, and leadership fostered by the unit.
