Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Trauma Center at CHC, Nungba, a 50-Bedded Sub-District Hospital, and an Amusement Park at Rangpang, Longmai in Noney District on Tuesday.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Minister Sapam Ranjan said that the primary healthcare system needs to be focused on and improved. Without strengthening primary healthcare, the tertiary healthcare system will hardly be able to be improved. The government is trying to improve the overall healthcare system in the state. All the sections under the medical department need to join hands and work with dedication for bringing a change in this sector, he informed.
Ranjan maintained that the BJP government has launched many healthcare schemes at the state and central levels. TB Mukt Bharat, PMJAY, Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan, Chief Minister’s Hakshel Tengbang for All, CMHA, etc. are some of the examples which may be cited. The government has set 2025 as the target for the complete elimination of TB disease from the country which is five years ahead of the WHO target, he added.
Minister also assured the construction of buildings in those areas where there is no physical building at Primary Health Centres in Noney districts. He also assured that the required machines and equipment for Trauma Center at CHC Nungba and PHCs in Noney District will be provided on a priority basis.
He further appealed to all the concerned medical professionals and staff to serve the public with dedication and sincerity. Minister also advised maintaining and keeping the hospital and its surroundings clean. He also added that the staff needs to have a sense of belongingness. Later, Ranjan inspected the present status of the CHC, Noney, and also interacted with the staff.
Chairman Hills Area Committee and MLA Dipu Gangmei, Director, Health Services Manipur Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, Director NHM, Manipur Dr Somorjit Ningombam attended the occasion as president and guests of honour respectively. Officials and staff of the medical directorate and NHM, Manipur, CSOs of Noney districts, and others also attended the occasion.
