Imphal (SPN) | Wushu Player Angom Bina was felicitated by the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) and All Manipur Manpower Upliftment Centre (AMMUC) at the office of AMUCO yesterday.
Angom Bina won Gold Medals in International Belt Wrestling, Wushu & Kungfu Championship 2022 held in Kathmandu, Nepal, and International Wushu & Judo Championships 2023 held in Guwahati, Assam.
The program was graced by the presence of AMUCO President Ph Nando Luwang and AMMUC President T Dhyanchand as the chief guest and president, respectively.
Longjam Memchoubi, Y Kunjarani, 0 Bilasini, Maibam Julius, and W Rameshore were also present as guests of honor.
During the event, Nando Luwang spoke about the achievements of Manipuri women in the field of games and sports, emphasizing their contribution to safeguarding the sovereignty of the kingdom for thousands of years.
He encouraged the people to continue their hard work and keep promoting the state in different fields.
However, Nando expressed concern over the declining childbirth ratio in the state and stressed on its negative impact on society. He called upon the people of the state to keep themselves healthy by involving in sports and exercises to bring about healthy generations.
Angom Bina from Ningthoukhong Ward No. 14 was presented with gifts, cash awards, and citations by AMUCO and AMMUC Presidents. Bina shared her experience and said that she gave her best in pursuing her career as a sportsperson despite having to earn a livelihood for her family.
She emphasized that hard work with determination is the key to success and encouraged Manipuri women to pursue their respective careers despite facing various challenges in life.
