Skoda India has introduced the second-generation 2025 Skoda Kodiaq, a 7-seater flagship SUV, starting at Rs 46.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Kodiaq brings refreshed styling, a revamped interior, enhanced features, and a slightly more powerful engine. Here’s a detailed look at what’s new.
Design of 2025 Skoda Kodiaq
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq sports a sleeker, curvier design compared to its predecessor. The front retains the split headlamp setup but introduces new LED DRLs that blend into Skoda’s signature grille with vertical chrome slats. The bonnet features subtle power bulges, while the lower bumper has a honeycomb pattern and functional air ducts. New 18-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels and a contrasting D-pillar accentuate the side profile. At the rear, C-shaped tail lamps are connected by a sleek light bar.
Interior & Features
The Kodiaq’s cabin is all-new, featuring a winged dashboard design with leatherette padding and a bold ridge on the passenger side. A 13-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, paired with a 10-inch digital driver’s display with navigation. A two-spoke steering wheel with ‘Skoda’ lettering and three rotary HVAC dials add a premium touch. The second-row seats offer slide and recline functions for added comfort.
Feature highlights include customizable ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 13-speaker Canton audio system, three-zone climate control, powered front seats with memory, heated and ventilated front seats with massage, an electric tailgate with gesture control, a 360-degree camera, and park assist. Safety is robust with 9 airbags, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, electronic differential lock, multi-collision brake, driver drowsiness monitor, hill start assist, and hill descent control.
Engine & Transmission
The new 2025 Skoda Kodiaq retains its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, now delivering 207 PS (up 14 PS) with 320 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Skoda claims a fuel efficiency of 14.86 km/l.
Price & Rivals
Priced at Rs 46.89 lakh for the Sportline variant and Rs 48.69 lakh for the Laurin & Klement (L&K) variant (ex-showroom), the Kodiaq competes with 7-seater SUVs like the Jeep Meridian and Nissan X-Trail. It also takes on premium 5-seater SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line, Citroen C5 Aircross, and Hyundai Tucson.
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq combines bold design, a feature-rich cabin, and strong performance, making it a compelling choice in the premium SUV segment.
In India, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is set to take on rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster in the premium SUV segment. Boasting a combination of upscale interiors, advanced technology, and diverse powertrain options, it strives to carve a strong presence in the market. Designed for both city drives and extended journeys, the second-generation Kodiaq offers an appealing blend of performance, comfort, and safety, making it a noteworthy contender in its class.
