Agartala (SPN) | The All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) president, Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, unveiled a Nupilan Statue in Tripura. The statue is located at Gournagar in Khowai district. The event was jointly organized by AMUCO and Manipuri Literary & Cultural Forum, Tripura.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including AMUCO advisor Yangsosong Koireng, AMUCO secretary organization Koijam Santosh Meitei, Manipuri Literary & Cultural Forum, Tripura president Ningombam Bira, MARUP joint editor RK Tarunjit, and Nupilan Observation Committee, Tripura convenor Khoisnam Birola.
During the event, AMUCO president Ph Nando Luwang spoke about the significance of Nupilan and his contributions to Manipuri literature and culture. He also emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Manipuri cultural heritage.
Following the unveiling ceremony of Nupilan Statue in Tripura, a cultural program was conducted with Ph Nando Luwang, Khoisnam Birola, Ningombam Bira, and MARUP Weekly joint editor RK Tarunjit as presidium members.
The program showcased the diversity and richness of Manipuri culture through various performances.
Khoisnam Mamata and Hijam Anusmita performed the Thougal Jagoi dance, while Khumanthem Laxmi sang a patriotic song. Khumanthem Anima sang the inaugural song, and Heirangkhongjam Bidyalaxmi Devi presented a solo dance.
In addition, artists from the All Assam Huyel Langlong Thang-Ta Association (AATTA) presented the Thangpak Chainaba, Thang Chunggoi Chainaba, and Stick dance.
The cultural program was well-received by the audience and highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Manipuri culture.
