Google’s Bard AI Chatbot, now has the ability to watch YouTube videos on your behalf. Its YouTube extension can process complex inquiries about specific video content, such as recipe quantity and a summary of instructions.
Bard has enhanced its YouTube Extension to provide specific answers related to the content of a video. This update allows users to engage more deeply with YouTube videos by asking Bard specific questions about the content. For example, while watching a cooking video, users can now ask the Bard AI chatbot about the quantity of ingredients required for the recipe.
Prior to this update, the YouTube Extension was only capable of finding specific videos. Now, it can also analyze the content of the videos. For instance, if a user is watching a travel video and is interested in a particular location, they can ask Bard AI Chatbot about it.
This development comes two weeks after YouTube began experimenting with new generative AI features, including an AI conversational tool that responds to queries about YouTube content and a feature that summarizes topics discussed in the comments of a video.
Bard AI Chatbot has been progressively improving since its initial launch. As reported by Android Authority, Bard’s YouTube integration has been enhanced to analyze individual videos and provide specific information, like key points or recipe ingredients, without the need to play the video. This could be an extremely useful feature, but it also raises concerns about the impact of generative AI on content creators.
Bard has introduced a new feature known as Bard Extensions. This feature enables Bard to integrate with your Google apps and services like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Flights and Hotels.
With Extensions, Bard AI Chatbot can retrieve and display relevant information from these Google tools, even when the required information is spread across multiple apps and services. For example, if you’re planning a trip, you can ask Bard to extract the dates from Gmail, fetch real-time flight and hotel information, provide Google Maps directions to the airport, and even watch YouTube videos of things to do at your destination — all within a single conversation.
If you’re applying for a new job and using Bard AI Chatbot to assist with the process. You could ask Bard to locate your resume titled “June 2023” from your Drive and condense it into a brief personal statement, and then continue collaborating on your new cover letter.
Furthermore, Bard has enhanced the “Google it” feature to verify Bard’s responses and expanded its features to more locations. When you click on the “G” icon, Bard will review the response and determine if there is corroborating content on the web.
Google Assistant and Google Bard AI Chatbot
Google Assistant and Google Bard are both AI systems developed by Google, but they serve different purposes and have different capabilities. Google Assistant is a virtual assistant that uses natural language processing and machine learning to perform searches, set reminders and timers, control smart home devices, and engage in basic conversations. Its interactions are designed for precision and efficiency, providing current information and executing instructions creatively. It’s integrated with various platforms and devices, including Android, iOS, and Google Nest speakers and displays.
In contrast, Google Bard is a more sophisticated AI model that strives for more human-like conversational abilities and extensive response generations. It can manage complex multi-turn conversations, making interactions more dynamic and interactive. Bard also offers more personalized responses by learning from user interactions and preferences over time. It’s designed to make conversations with your virtual assistant more natural and engaging.
While Google Assistant is primarily for accessing Google’s services through AI, Bard aims to provide a more advanced and powerful conversational experience.
