CM of Manipur, N Biren means development in the Northeast. He is known for bringing transformative progress to the State in a short period of six years. In March this year, he announced that Golden Era for Manipur to begin soon. And has been working towards achieving his dreams.
Manipur emerges as the best-performing state among the Northeast and Hill States category in the recently concluded third edition of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog’s India Innovation Index 2021. The India Innovation Index is a comprehensive tool for the evaluation and development of the country’s innovation ecosystem. It ranks the states and the union territories on their innovation performance to build healthy competition among them.
Under the leadership of Biren, the state scored best in the knowledge workers and safety and legal environment pillars. The top score is a testament to his government’s continued commitment to transforming the State into an innovation-driven policy and people-centric governance.
The number of indicators has increased from 36 (in the India Innovation Index 2020) to 66 (in the India Innovation Index 2021). The indicators are now distributed across 16 sub-pillars, which, in turn, form seven key pillars. ‘Innovation is critical in promoting the country’s resilience and self-reliance. The index points to the decentralization of innovation across all Indian states,’ said NITI Aayog Senior Advisor Neeraj Sinha.
The recent development of roads, manpower, healthcare, education, and the socio-economic status of the people have bear fruits and Manipur score a promising 19.37 while the average score of the Northeast and Hill States manage 14.41.
The 100 days program of the Biren 1.0 and Biren 2.0 is the epitome of vigorous development and pre-planned governance of the present government which addresses issues on a priority basis.
CM Biren’s progress report card of his government’s achievements shows the transparency and commitment toward the inclusive growth of the State. This time, with the strong support of his Cabinet Ministers and the MLAs, Biren has transformed the State in the education sector through School Fagathansi Mission.
The School Fagathansi Mission, an initiative of CM N Biren led Government to give thrust towards the improvement of Government Schools, has started bearing fruits as Government Schools recorded a high pass percentage of 60.40 percent in the recently declared High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2022 result. The pass percentage of Government Schools in HSLC Examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur hadn’t crossed 55 percent in the last ten years.
It is worth mentioning that 43 Government Schools had shown an appreciable outcome in the HSLC examination with a 100 percent pass percentage.
There is also an education-based scheme called, the Rani Gaidinliu Nupi Singi Scheme which will facilitate financial grants for girl students coming from lower-income groups studying in Class XI in the State and will receive Rs 25,000 over a period of two years to complete their secondary education. Besides, the govt is focusing on imparting training and coaching to the Civil servant aspirants of the state.
In Biren 1.0, the govt is able to support around 5477 beneficiaries under the StartUp Manipur Scheme which is supporting dynamic youths with promising innovative ideas, and Rs 114.56 crore has been sanctioned to different beneficiaries of different categories so far.
We hope the 100 Action Points for the First 100 days of Biren-led govt will also help in achieving the targets and maintaining the highest India Innovation Index score in the coming years.
Biren is committed to strengthening the people-centric governance, filling gaps in economic reforms among the hill and valley, and also striving for revenue generations for all round transformative changes in the state which will further aid in the development of the Country’s growth.
