Manipur is a land of art and culture, Shyam said, but added that the actors and film producers of the state have a lot of grievances. We have come across many cinema halls being closed down due to loss of money. He appealed to the film producers to make quality movies.
He said film is a part of education, besides being the mirror of society. Film can uplift a society, the MLA said, noting that Manipuri cinema has made immense contributions in the world of cinema.
The artists should possess the spirit of the art and should not work only for financial gain, he urged. A good actor naturally attracts money, he added.
