Agriculture Minister Th Biswajit clarified that the department caught fertilizers that were brought from other States and it has not issued fertilizers for black marketing instead of distributing to the farmers. The Minister also made an appeal to the farmers to give information to the Department if they come across such kinds of activities.
The Minister further said that farmers need not worry as thousands of metric tonnes of fertilizers are allocated for the State but due to recent flood and landslide in the neighbouring State, they could not be transported in the State as of now but sufficient fertilizers are available in the stock.
Biswajit said that in order to give fertilizers to the farmers, the government is trying to make an arrangement for the farmers through the authentication of the owner of the field. Farmers should minimize the use of fertilizers in the production of agricultural crops and also take note of the health of the public instead of gaining profit, he added.
