In a bid to promote the game and groom talented footballers from the state, the Manipur Football Club (MFC) opens its Academy in Pune, Maharashtra. The grand opening was celebrated at Force Playing Fields, Baner. The launch event buzzed with energy as over 25 young boys and girls from diverse age groups took part, embodying the academy’s vision to cultivate football talent from grassroots to elite levels.

Established on October 7, 2015, MFC was founded to unite football enthusiasts from Manipur—a powerhouse of Indian football—and has since grown to embrace players nationwide. “MFC is more than a club; it’s a community built on passion, pride, and opportunity. Our academy aims to nurture talent and provide a stage for players to excel,” said Mr. Sanjoy Yurembam, a founding member.

The academy’s launch was bolstered by support from prominent figures, including Mrs. Bembem Devi (Arjuna and Padma Shri Awardee, former India Women’s Team Captain), Mr. Randeep Hooda (Indian Actor), Mr. Gouramangi Singh (Assistant Coach, FC Goa, and former India player), Mr. Boris Singh (India National Team, FC Goa), Mr. Chinglensana Singh (India National Team, Bengaluru FC), and Mr. Udanta Singh (India National Team, FC Goa).

With AFC/AIFF-certified coaches, structured training programs, and weekend matches, MFC Pune Academy is poised to become a breeding ground for future football stars, inspiring young athletes to dream big and play bigger.
