Information and Public Relations Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh released ‘Manipur Today’ a monthly journal published by DIPR, Manipur. Commissioner IPR, M. Harekrishna, IAS, Director DIPR H. Balkrishna Singh, Deputy Director (Press), DIPR, T. Ramesh Singh, Deputy Director (HQ), L. Ashok Kumar Singh, and officials and staff of the department also attended the occasion held at the Minister’s chamber at New Secretariat North Block on Thursday.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister Ranjan said that the Department of Information and Public Relations has been publishing the monthly journal ‘Manipur Today’ regularly. It may be mentioned that the publication of this journal started in June, 2018.
Replying to a media query, the Minister said that the role of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) is vast, therefore the government under the initiative of Chief Minister N Biren is planning to expand and upgrade the department considering its prospects.
Required infrastructures of district information offices will be developed on a priority basis. Concerned officials have been asked to submit status reports of the department, the Minister added.
Copies of ‘Manipur Today’ for the month of May were distributed to the officials and media persons who were present at the occasion.
