One held with 441 gram of brown sugar in Manipur

During the frisking along NH 39 at Yairipok lamkhai Police check post, an Eco van bearing registration number TN09-CH7596, silver in colour was intercepted by a combined team of CDO Thoubal and a column of 16 AR led by O. Wangkhomba, Addl SP (Ops) TBL. The frisking was led by Laishram Santosh, Dy SP- CDO Thoubal.

Upon checking the van which was coming from the Moreh side, brown sugar contained in the soap case was discovered. The driver of the van identified himself as Gimmuanlian Zou (23) s/o Nengkhanthang Zou of Lhangnem Village, Churachandpur.

While searching the vehicle, 34 (thirty four) soap cases containing brown sugar were detected. On weighing all of the contents inside the soap cases, it was found to weigh approximately 441 grams in total of brown sugar, excluding the weight of the plastic soap cases. Thereafter, the arrested people along with the seized items and the vehicle are handed over to Thoubal PS and a case has been registered for further necessary action.
