Paul Ryan says Republican will be defeated with Trump in 2024?

Last Updated on September 30, 2023 by SPN Editor

Republican Party Paul Ryan in a shocking interview said that Republicans will be defeated if Donald Trump runs for Presidential Candidate in 2024.

Amidst this interview, the recently concluded US Midterm elections have bright opportunities for the Republican party. The GOP has got 220 seats (gained 8 seats) and won the US House, crossing the majority mark of 218. The Democrats have lost 9 seats.

In the US Senate, the Democrats have 48 seats, gaining 1 seat; while the Republicans lost one seat and got 49. Again, the race for Governors was held for 36 seats in the US midterm Elections. Both Republicans and Democrats have won 18 seats each.

With this the total number of Republican party’s seat is 26, losing 2 seats, while the Democratic party have got 24 seats, gaining 2 seats.

Although the Democrats look to control the Senate, the Republicans may have a majority in the House of Representatives. The remaining lone seat in the state of Georgia will be critical in maintaining Democratic control of the Senate.

According to US law, since none of the politicians received at least 50% of the vote, Georgia will vote on December 6 of this year between Senator Raphael Warnock of the Democratic Party and Herschel Walker of the Republican Party. Depending on the winner, the Senate could have a 51-49 tally for Democrats, who are getting the support of two independent candidates, or a 50-50 tie between the two parties.

The US midterm elections are termed as a comeback for the Republican party by poll strategies and analysts. However, the interview of Paul Ryan, saying the Republican party will be defeated if they support Donald Trump for the President in 2024 is worrisome for Republican supporters.

Who is Paul Ryan of the Republican Party?

Paul Ryan is a Republican who represented Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District for 20 years and was speaker of the House from 2015 to 2019.

Paul Ryan was reported to have said that he was not a “Never Trumper,” as he worked with Trump as a speaker on tax reform and other issues. He believes Trump would lose the National election for the US Presidential Candidate in 2024.

Republican Paul Ryan announced he will never support Donald Trump for US Presidential Candidate in 2024.

Ryan added, “I am a never-again-Trumper. Why? Because I want to win. And we lost with Trump. It was really clear to us in 2018, in 2020, and now in 2022.”

Ryan further said he thinks that Republican voters will “move on” and that Trump will not win the GOP nomination for president in 2024.

Republican Paul Ryan is on the list of Wisconsin Republicans who have come out in opposition to Trump in the wake of the Nov. 8 midterm elections in which Republicans performed below expectations by failing to gain control of the U.S. Senate and winning back the House by only a thin margin.

Will Ron DeSantis stop Donald Trump’ dream of MAGA?

The silver lining from the US Midterm elections for Republicans was the victory of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Although it is too early to predict the final Republican Presidential candidate for the 2024 National election, Ron DeSantis’ victory has widened the possibilities for Presidential candidates.

Paul Ryan might support Ron DeSantis as the Republican leader for US Presidential in 2024.

Ron DeSantis has shown little public interest in his presidential bid for the 2024 election, but he is widely considered the Republican Presidential nominee. A recent poll showed a majority of voters preferring DeSantis as the 2024 Republican nominee.

On the other hand, almost all nominees supported by former President Donald Trump have either lost or are trailing in this year’s US midterm elections. For example, Kari Lake lost to Katie Hobbs of Democrats in Arizona’s Governor seat; Mehmet Oz lost to John Fetterman in Pennsylvania; in Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer won her second term as governor by defeating Republican Tudor Dixon; In the Arizona Senate race, Blake Masters is running behind the Democratic Party member, Mark Kelly.

The midterm results are seen as a setback for Donald Trump’s administration, the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement and the broader Republican agenda. These put the Republican prospect of retaking the White House in 2024 a distant dream.

The Republic party seems a divided house in which the Democrats are getting advantages. Joe Bidden is a happy man now after watching the recent development of the Post Midterm Elections in the State.
