Pherzawl Intensifies APAAR ID Rollout Through Mega Camps Across Six Education Clusters

Pherzawl, June 30: The District Board of Education, Pherzawl, has intensified the rollout of the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) through a series of Mega APAAR ID Camps conducted across six education clusters in the district.

The district-wide campaign was organised in collaboration with the Zonal Education Office and covered Senvon, Dr Thuoma, Sibapunkhal, Mualnuam, Leijangphai and Bukpi clusters. The central programme was held at HSA Hall, Rengkai.

The initiative was aimed at accelerating APAAR ID generation while helping school heads, teachers and parents understand the registration process and their role in ensuring accurate student data entry.

A team of Master Trainers conducted interactive awareness sessions and live demonstrations on APAAR ID generation through the UDISE+ portal. The sessions focused on practical steps required for registration, common technical issues, and the importance of verifying student details before submission.

The APAAR initiative forms part of the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, under which every student is expected to receive a unique digital academic identity. The ID is intended to securely store academic records throughout a student’s educational journey.

Officials said the campaign has produced encouraging initial results, with 149 APAAR IDs generated so far in Pherzawl district. This accounts for 27.42 percent of eligible students in the district.

They expressed confidence that the coverage will improve as schools continue the registration process with better awareness, clearer procedural understanding and closer coordination with parents.

At the same time, officials acknowledged that mismatches between student details recorded in the UDISE+ database and Aadhaar records remain a major hurdle. Such discrepancies have delayed successful registration in several cases.

Schools have been urged to carefully verify and align student data to ensure smooth APAAR ID generation. Accuracy in names, dates of birth and other details is considered essential for avoiding rejection during the registration process.

The camps witnessed active participation from educators, parents and students, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of digital academic identity in school education.

The District Project Office appreciated the cooperation extended by all concerned and reiterated its commitment to achieving universal APAAR ID coverage in Pherzawl district. Officials said the objective is to ensure that no eligible student is left out of the district’s digital education process.
