In the US Midterm Elections 2022, the race for Arizona Governor is in limelight. The topic is trending in social media who will be the Governor of Arizona?
Katie Hobbs is the Arizona secretary of state. Previously, she served as an Arizona state senator from 2013 to 2019 and as a state representative from 2011 to 2013.
Kari Lake is a former anchor for a local news channel, Fox 10 News in Phoenix. After working at the station for over two decades, She stepped down from her role in March 2021.
Republican Kari Lake is the popular choice, she is a little ahead of Democratic Katie Hobbs. Former President Donald Trump has been campaigning for the Republican candidate in the midterm elections.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden and former President Barrack Obama have been campaigning for Katie Hobbs.
Altogether, 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 34 seats in the Senate will be contested. Moreover, states across the country will also elect their governors in this year’s US Midterm Elections. The result is much awaited- mostly by current President Joe Biden- as the outcome will influence the playing field for the 2024 presidential campaign.
Arizona is one of the twenty-seven states in the US that prohibits its governors from serving more than two consecutive terms. Therefore, the incumbent Republican governor Doug Ducey is term-limited and ineligible to run for a third consecutive term.
This made the neck-to-neck contest between Katie Hobbs and Kari Lake. Arizona’s Secretary of State Katie Hobbs worked as a social worker for many years. Even former Democratic President Barack Obama has thrown his support behind her, appearing with her at a rally in Phoenix.
Abortion Rights and Border issue is the main agenda of Republicans to fight Joe Biden’s policy. While Democrats promise to uphold women’s rights to have an abortion, Republicans have proposed a national ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Democrats supporters have been blaming the tenure of former President Donald Trump for the present mess in the States while Republican supporters have charged Joe Biden’s term filled with failed foreign policies, weakness, and chaos.
Kari Lake tweeted about her rival Hobbs, “Let’s send Katie Hobbs back to the circus and let her zip line her way into the private sector and vote her out of office.”
Out of the two candidates for Governor, Kari Lake is more powerful in her speech and she is also one of the most charismatic candidates in the Country right now.
Katie Hobbs was quick to reply, “If Kari Lake doesn’t get her way, she plans to undermine the will of voters. She has already refused to say if she’ll certify the 2024 election if she’s governor. She won’t provide solutions. She’ll just cause chaos.”
Let’s wait for the result, for this Arizona seat is the most interesting one. In the last US Presidential election, Joe Biden has not got much support.
