Applications for the Rhodes Scholarship 2027 have opened for Indian students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford.
The scholarship, administered by the Rhodes Trust, offers fully funded financial support to outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to public service.
For the October 2027 intake, five Rhodes Scholarships will be awarded to candidates from India. Eligible students can submit their applications through the official process prescribed by the Rhodes Trust.
According to the application schedule, the process opened on June 1, 2026, and the deadline for submission of applications is July 23, 2026. The last date for submission of references is August 6, 2026.
The longlisting process and preliminary interviews are expected to take place during September and October 2026. The final interview and social engagement event will be held in November 2026, while the winners are expected to be announced by December 2026.
Selected candidates will enter the University of Oxford in October 2027.

To be eligible, applicants must be Indian citizens and possess a valid Indian passport or equivalent proof of citizenship. Overseas Citizen of India and Person of Indian Origin cards will not be accepted as proof of citizenship.
Applicants must also have completed at least four years of formal education in India during the last ten years. This may include education at an Indian school or university. Final year undergraduate students are also eligible to apply.
The Rhodes Scholarship 2027 is open to candidates who are between 18 and 23 years of age as of October 1, 2026. Candidates who began their first undergraduate degree later than usual may be considered under a separate age provision, provided they meet the academic requirements.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English and complete their undergraduate degree by July 2027.
Candidates selected for the Rhodes Scholarship 2027 will later receive guidance on applying for their chosen postgraduate course at the University of Oxford.
