Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games have revealed a physical edition of the Star Wars Heritage Pack, consisting of seven classic Star Wars games for the Nintendo Switch, set to launch on December 8, 2023, at a price of $59.99.
Pre-orders are currently available from major retailers such as Amazon and Target. This physical release is a reissue of the Star Wars Heritage Pack (2023) that debuted on the North American eShop earlier in the year.
The Star Wars Heritage Pack comprises seven iconic Star Wars titles, with two of them requiring a digital download, namely Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel. The included games are:
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: This action-packed game allows players to assume the role of Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, as they explore the Star Wars universe between Episodes III and IV. With incredible Force powers, players can wield lightsabers, manipulate objects, and use their abilities to defeat enemies and uncover the secrets of the Force.
Star Wars: Republic Commando: In this tactical first-person shooter, players step into the boots of an elite clone commando, leading a squad of fellow clones through intense battles during the Clone Wars. The game’s focus on teamwork, strategy, and quick decision-making makes it a unique and thrilling addition to the Star Wars gaming lineup.
Star Wars: Episode I Racer: Based on the thrilling podrace sequence from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, this racing game puts players in the cockpit of high-speed podracing vehicles. With a variety of tracks and characters from the Star Wars universe, it offers an exciting and immersive racing experience.
Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy: Set in the post-Original Trilogy Star Wars universe, players take on the role of Jaden Korr, a Jedi student training at Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy. As Jaden, players can choose their path in the Force, customize their lightsaber, and engage in epic lightsaber battles and Force-driven combat.
Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast: In this action-packed game, players step into the shoes of Kyle Katarn, a former Jedi Knight turned mercenary. As Kyle, players wield both blasters and lightsabers to take on the remnants of the Empire and unravel a sinister plot. The game’s engaging storyline and intense gameplay make it a fan favorite.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Regarded as one of the greatest Star Wars games ever created, Knights of the Old Republic is set thousands of years before the events of the films. Players create their character and make choices that determine whether they follow the path of the Jedi or the Sith. The game’s rich storytelling, memorable characters, and deep role-playing elements have made it a classic.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords: A sequel to the first Knights of the Old Republic, this game delves even deeper into the moral complexities of the Star Wars universe. Players follow the story of a Jedi Exile who seeks to uncover the secrets of the Sith Lords. Like its predecessor, it offers an engaging narrative and complex characters.
There has been recent speculation surrounding Aspyr’s Knights of the Old Republic remake due to deleted tweets and a private reveal trailer, as well as reports of development issues.
However, Sony attributed the removal of social media posts related to the remake to expired music licenses.
What stands out about this Star Wars Heritage Pack is its pricing, as $59.99 for seven games offers good value, especially when compared to the eShop price of $79.99.
While the European eShop offers the collection for £68.09, there is no announcement of a physical release of Star Wars Heritage Pack for this region.
