The 22nd foundation day celebration of All Clubs Organizations Associations Meira Paibi Lup (ACOAM Lup), Kangleipak was held on Saturday at Laishram Khulem Leikai community hall, Naoremthong DC Road Imphal West.
National awardee H Ibotombi Khuman, ACOAM Lup President Soraisam Sanjit, and Padma Medicare and SRL Diagnostics Managing Director and advisor Dr Ashangbam Vivekananda Singh graced the occasion as Chief Guest, President, and Guest of Honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Soraisam Sanjit said that the Lup was set up on July 2, 2001 at Imphal with the main objective of safeguarding the territorial integrity of the State.
He said that ACOAM Lup has been taking part in different agitations like mass protest against extension of cease-fire between GoI and Naga outfit NSCN (IM) in the State in the year 2001, AFSPA, Inner Line Permit System, boundary issues etc.
He said that people should join hands to protect the over 2000-year long history of the State, culture and territorial integrity of Manipur. He said that people should follow in the footsteps of the forefathers and safeguard territorial integrity from any adversary.
He said that youth of the present day have lost morals and many youths are using drugs and other intoxicants. All civil society organizations, clubs, and Meira Paibi should jointly fight against drugs.
It is noteworthy that the civil society organization has been playing a pivotal role in the movement for bringing unity and peace in the State.
