It is Against Age-Old Meitei Traditions – MP Sanajaoba

Imphal/ July 22, 2023 (SPN) | Manipur Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba strongly condemned the Viral Video incidents in Manipur. The Maharaja said that the parading of two women naked is against the age-old Meitei traditions and values of respecting women.

Sanajaoba said that the video in question has shocked and appalled us all. It is distressing to witness individuals capable of stooping to such low levels of depravity.

This behavior goes against the age-old Meitei traditions and values of respecting women, which have been an integral part of our culture for generations.

He said that the recent viral video related to Manipur, showing the invasion of modesty of two women, has evoked widespread condemnation and deep shame among Manipuris. As a proud Manipuri, I join my fellow citizens in denouncing this heinous act and urging an end to the meaningless violence that plagues our region.

These criminals responsible for the reprehensible act must be held accountable and face the full force of the law. The invasion of the modesty of women is a grave crime that should not be tolerated in any society, Sanajaoba added.

In the midst of these troubling incidents and clashes, it is crucial for all parties involved to put an end to the violence immediately. Continuing down this path will only bring more suffering and misery to our people and our land.
