KKL bans Revive Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre

A press release issued by the Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL) declared that the association has put a ban on the Revive Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre, Utlou with immediate effect on the ground of alleged killing of Sanjoy.

Strongly condemning the alleged killing of Lukram Ningthou alias Sanjoy Singh (32) son of L Raghumani Singh of Nambol Phoijing on June 2 at the Revive Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre, Utlou Chanura Makhong, KKL has demanded the authority concerned to take appropriate legal action against those who were involved in committing the crime.

The association said that the staff of the said rehabilitation centre should not shift to other centres to work. All drug addicts should be treated humanely as patients and treatment should be conducted with proper care.

It said that all of the rehabilitation centres set up in the State should be monitored properly to check how they are treating the inmates.
