MAIYOND Formed to Unite Manipuri in Delhi

On April 23, 2023, the formal announcement program of Manipuri Innovative Youth Organisation, Delhi (MAIYOND) took place at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

The event was graced by Prof. RK Hemakumar, Dean of the School of Engineering, Manipur University as the Chief Guest, H. Ibotombi Khuman, National & International Awardee as the Guest of Honour, and S. Bidyananda, President of Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) as the President.

According to Khaidem Ajitkumar, Public Relation Secretary of MAIYOND, the newly elected executives took an oath at Kangla Fort, administered by Prof. RK Hemakumar.

Leaders of various civil society organizations including IPSA, ACOAM Lup Kangleipak, IPAK, KANGLAMEI, KIL, and CLK attended the event.

Three executives, including the President of MAIYOND, took their oath physically at Kangla, while the remaining four executives took their oath virtually from Delhi.

The office bearers of MAIYOND are Yengkhom Gunchenba (president), Thokchom Robinchandra (vice president), Takhellambam Oresh Meetei (general secretary), Reona Ningthoukhongjam (finance secretary), Surjakanta Saikhom (joint secretary), Khaidem Ajitkumar (public relation secretary), and Mutum Tomthinganbi (assistant public relation secretary).

The objective of the organization is to provide a forum for social interaction among Manipuri people in Delhi.

MAIYOND will support and help each other, preserve Manipuri roots, beliefs, ethos, culture, and identity, work for the welfare of Manipuri youths and students, safeguard and further their interests, promote unity and understanding, and enhance cultural and educational development.
