Chanchui Khayi, who won the title at the 19th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2023 pageant, was warmly welcomed by a large crowd as well as members of Tangkhul Katamnao Long when she landed at the Imphal airport from Guwahati on Friday.
Chanchui Khayi revealed that 75 candidates from the eight northeastern states competed while speaking with the media at Imphal International Airport.
She was one of the three winners chosen in the event’s grand finale, which took place on January 29.
Chanchui Khayi, from the Ukhrul district of Manipur, was one of the three winners of the 19th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2022 competition during a glamorous grand finale held in Guwahati on Sunday. Chanchui Khayi has now added another achievement to her resume.
Sarangthem Nirupama Devi, also from Manipur, and Neha Baruah, of Assam, were also named the winners of the Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2022 competition, which was run by Mega Entertainment.
Chanchui described her experience at one of the biggest pageant events in the North East, saying, “It was definitely different and very well organized, literally a wonderful production staff, no time was wasted, everything was so clear cut. I’ve never seen a pageant program that is so effective.”
The winners were given the chance to experience the diverse northeast states’ unique cultures and natural beauty during a tour of those states funded by the organizer in collaboration with Karbi Anglong Tourism, she said.
Earlier, she won the first runner-up title in the Miss North East India 2019 competition.
Chanchui, a resident of Teinem Village, who began her career in the glitzy world in 2019 at Miss North East India, claimed that this was the most difficult competition she has ever participated in.
Chanchui also won the K-Pop competition in 2020 which was organized by the Korean Cultural Center India (KCCI) and sponsored by Korean brands Samsung, Limese, and Innisfree.
