Movement of heavy vehicles banned

In a release, Sulam Area Anal Chiefs’ Association, Chandel district chairman LK Premson stated that an emergency meeting at Larong village on June 3, the Sulam Area Anal Chief Association resolved to ban the movement of heavy vehicle between Mongsang Pantha to Libung via Khonyon, Vomku, Darchol, Larong and Duthang village.

The ban on heavy vehicles moving between Mongsang Pantha to Libung carrying timber and Myanmar goods and products will remain in effect from June 6 till November, it added.

“Since there is no all-weather road, the condition of the road is in deplorable conditions, especially during the rainy seasons which hugely affect the local population,” it stated.
