Imphal/ May 23, 2023 (SPN) | Students from the reputed Government School, TG Higher Secondary School in Imphal topped the Arts and Commerce Stream at the Higher Secondary Examination for 2023.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) has announced the results of the higher secondary examinations for 2023. In all three streams – Science, Arts, and Commerce – girls have secured the top positions.
The overall pass percentage for government schools is 84.34 percent, while other schools have a pass percentage of 90.09 percent.
Out of the total 36,717 students enrolled for the Class XII examinations, 36,212 appeared for the exams. Of these, 32,111 students cleared the examinations, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 88.68 percent, slightly lower than the previous year’s pass percentage of 90.09 percent.
In the Arts stream, out of 11,105 students who appeared for the exams, 9,439 students cleared it, resulting in a pass percentage of 85 percent.
For the Science stream, out of 24,304 students, 21,996 students cleared the exams, leading to a pass percentage of 90.50 percent.
In the Commerce stream, 803 students appeared for the exams, and 676 students cleared it, resulting in a pass percentage of 84.16 percent.
The top three position holders in each stream are as follows:
SCIENCE: 1st position: Ria Thokchom; Marks secured: 491 out of 500; School: Heritage Convent, Imphal West; Parents: Sophia Ngangom and Thokchom Romeo Singh
2nd position: Kelina Chungkham; Marks secured: 488 out of 500; School: Comet School, Changangei; Parents: Abha Maisnam and Johnson Chungkham
3rd position: Lincoln Leisem Potsangbam; Marks secured: 481 out of 500; School: Xtra Edge School, Ghari; Parents: Thongam Chanu Lalleima and Potsangbam Geheswar Singh
ARTS:
1st position: Pushpa Naorem; Marks secured: 475 out of 500; School: TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal; Parents: N Sangita Devi and N Bhumeshor Singh
2nd position: Chungkham Damayenti Devi; Marks secured: 470 out of 500; School: Enlighten Knowledge Hr Sec School, Sangakpham; Parents: Chungkham (O) Khulem Premolata Devi and Chungkham Kotishor Singh
3rd position: Tulshipriya Athokpam; Marks secured: 463 out of 500; School: TG Hr Sec School, Imphal; Parents: Athokpam Benela Devi and Athokpam Jiten Singh
COMMERCE:
1st position: Rajbrinda Naorem; Marks secured: 445 out of 500; School: TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal; Parents: N (O) Satyapriya and N Henary Singh
2nd position: Einstein Ningombam; Marks secured: 430 out of 500; School: SDJM Hr Sec School, Paona Bazar; Parents: Moirangthem Tombi Devi and N Ranjit Singh
3rd position: Waribam Debraj Singh; Marks secured: 411 out of 500; School: Sangai Hr Sec School, Chumbreithong; Parents: Waribam Anjula Devi and Waribam Dhiren Singh
