59th Edition of Femina Miss India in Manipur

For the first time in Manipur’s history, Femina Miss India will be held in the state following an agreement between the state Ministry of Tourism and the Times Group to host the finale of the 59th edition of the beauty pageant in Imphal.

On Thursday, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Times of India Managing Director Vineet Jain signed an agreement with the CM’s Secretariate to hold the event in April 2023. The Ministry of Tourism and The Times Group has announced that the 59th edition of Femina Miss India will be held in the Northeastern state of Manipur in April 2023. Both parties signed an agreement to officiate the partnership and exchanged the agreement in the presence of the Chief Minister, N Biren and Vineet Jain, managing director, The Times of India.

What Manipur CM said about Femina Miss India?

CM N Biren tweeted, ” Manipur to host Femina Miss India 2023 Finale ! Delighted to share that the Government of Manipur has signed the partnership agreement with The Times Group to host the Grand Finale of the Femina Miss India 2023 in Manipur.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Shri @vineetjaintimes Jain, Managing Director, The Times Group, Hon’ble Ministers, MLA and State Govt. officials. This will be the first time that the mega event is being organised in the North East.”

Speaking on the partnership, CM Biren said they are “excited to partner with the prestigious Miss India Organisation to host the grand finale here in Imphal, Manipur.”

“The main objective of this collaboration is to celebrate the diversity and inclusion of Indian culture and promote the competitive spirit of the talented participants. We want to encourage and empower the youth of the country by welcoming the best of Indian talent to our land, and showcasing the culture and heritage of Manipur that we are so proud of,” CM N Biren said.

CM N Biren also said it is the first time that Femina Miss India is being held in Northeast state and it reflects the growing interest specially by investors. The number of tourists coming to the state is increasing as security is improving, the CM said and highlighted the Sangai festival which will start on November 21, he called on the Miss India Team to enjoy the event.

CM Biren further said that every region has unique natural beauty and nature and highlighted the state’s tourist attractions. Times of India Managing Director Raje Prem Kumar said, “We are happy to bring our wonderful event to the people of Manipur and we will pull out all stops to make it an inspiring and entertaining event the city has seen”.

Idea for hosting Femina Miss India in Manipur

In the last six decades, Femina Miss India has reached audiences in different cities across the country and the Finale of the 59th edition in Imphal will be remembered for a long time, he said. Miss India has changed the lives of many Indian women, giving them empowerment, employability, opportunity and a strong voice in the community. Manipur State also believes in empowering its women to be equal partners in development so this partnership is a natural culmination of ideologies and vision, Prem Kumar added.
