BharatGPT, a pioneer in artificial intelligence (AI) research, is gearing up to unveil its eagerly awaited ‘Hanooman’ service in the coming month, marking a significant stride in AI technology.
Drawing inspiration from the Indian deity known for his wisdom and power, ‘Hanooman’ is poised to redefine our interaction with AI. While the specifics of the service remain confidential, the tech world is rife with anticipation about the potential features of ‘Hanooman’.
“BharatGPT has consistently led the way in AI exploration and innovation. The forthcoming launch of ‘Hanooman’ underscores their dedication to expanding the horizons of AI capabilities,” commented a technology analyst.
The introduction of ‘Hanooman’ is set to augment BharatGPT’s remarkable array of AI offerings. The organization has played a crucial role in creating AI models that mimic human-like text comprehension and generation, facilitating a host of applications from email drafting to code writing.
BharatGPT, supported by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries and premier engineering institutions in the country, is on the verge of launching its inaugural ChatGPT-style service.
The AI model, a collaborative effort with eight Indian Institutes of Technology, enjoys the backing of Reliance Jio Infocomm and the central government.
The consortium, comprising Reliance and eight IITs, provided a glimpse of the model at a recent tech conference in Mumbai. The ‘Hanooman’ model showcased a motorcycle mechanic interacting with the AI bot in Tamil, a banker engaging with the tool in Hindi, and a Hyderabad-based developer employing the tool for code writing.
The ‘Hanooman’ model is designed to operate in 11 local languages across four sectors: healthcare, governance, financial services, and education.
In addition to this, ‘Hanooman’ will feature speech-to-text functionality, enhancing its user-friendliness, as reported by Ganesh Ramakrishnan, chair of IIT Bombay’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering, at the annual Nasscom IT industry conference.
It’s worth noting that other startups like Sarvam and Krutrim, backed by notable VC investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners and billionaire Vinod Khosla’s fund, are also developing open-sourced AI models tailored for the country.
Reliance Jio is reportedly planning to develop customized models for specific uses. The telecom-to-retail conglomerate is already working on ‘Jio Brain’, a platform to deploy AI across a network of approximately 450 million subscribers.
Large Language Models or LLMs are systems that learn from extensive data and generate responses that sound natural. These models utilize generative AI, a newer form of artificial intelligence popularized by the success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
As the launch date nears, the spotlight is on BharatGPT to see how ‘Hanooman’ will influence the future of AI. Keep an eye out for more updates as we track this thrilling development.
